Wolverine Airsoft MTW Billet Tactical XB, 14"
The Wolverine Airsoft MTW Billet Tactical XB 14" combines the proven MTW Billet platform with Wolverine's latest HPA technology in a longer, rifle-length configuration. The "XB" designation tells you exactly what is inside: X means the INFERNO XTS HPA engine, while B adds the BLINC Bluetooth FCU. The 14" version features a 380 mm inner barrel, 14.5" outer barrel and 13" M-LOK handguard.
Compared with the traditional MTW Billet Gen 3 configuration using the INFERNO Gen 2 engine and Spartan Electronics, the Tactical XB upgrades both the HPA engine and electronics. It retains the features that have made the MTW platform popular, including the CNC-machined Billet receiver, empty-magazine detection, dedicated MTW magazine system and purpose-built HPA construction.
What do X, B and R mean?
Wolverine uses the letters X, B and R to identify the technology installed in the different Tactical MTW configurations. This makes the differences between versions such as XB, XR and XBR easier to understand:
- X = INFERNO XTS HPA Engine
- B = BLINC Bluetooth FCU
- R = QUAKE Recoil Stock + fixed rear airline connector
This Tactical XB model therefore includes the INFERNO XTS engine and BLINC Bluetooth FCU, but does not include the QUAKE recoil system.
INFERNO XTS - the next generation of INFERNO
The INFERNO XTS builds on the proven INFERNO Gen 2 architecture with a redesigned shot cycle intended to improve consistency, sealing and tuning flexibility.
The Extended Stroke system increases separation between the loading and firing stages. Wolverine states that this improves the hop-up air seal, gives the system more forgiveness during BB feeding and helps each BB settle consistently before the shot.
The XTS also features a redesigned stainless-steel nozzle and optimised internal airflow. The updated valve housing reduces wasted air and improves dwell tuning tolerance, making the engine easier to optimise for different energy limits and configurations.
BLINC Bluetooth FCU
The B in XB stands for Wolverine's BLINC Bluetooth FCU. BLINC combines the FCU and trigger board into a programmable electronic control system with Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity.
Using the BLINC app, the rifle's behaviour can be customised wirelessly, different profiles can be saved and settings can be changed without opening the rifle.

When paired with a compatible Acetech Bluetooth chronograph or tracer, BLINC can display chronograph data and use Wolverine's automatic dwell-tuning feature. Compatible examples include the Acetech Bifrost BT, Lighter BT and AC6000 BT.
MTW - designed as an HPA rifle from the start
Unlike an AEG converted to HPA, the MTW has been designed from the beginning around an HPA operating system. The engine, receiver, feeding system, electronics and controls therefore form a purpose-built platform without the limitations of a conventional AEG gearbox shell.
The MTW uses a CNC feed tube and the dedicated PTS EPM-MTW magazine system with empty-magazine detection. When the magazine runs empty, the rifle stops firing until a loaded magazine is inserted.
Billet receiver and 14" configuration
The Tactical XB uses Wolverine's Gen 3 M4 Billet receiver set. The 14" version combines a 380 mm inner barrel, 14.5" outer barrel and 13" M-LOK handguard.
Compared with the shorter 10" version, the longer front end provides more rail and handguard space for accessories and gives the rifle a more traditional full-length carbine appearance while retaining the same XTS and BLINC technology.

Adjustable HPA performance
The INFERNO XTS allows the rifle's performance to be tuned through HPA pressure, dwell and electronic settings. Wolverine specifies an input pressure range of 60-160 PSI, adjustable output energy of approximately 1-3 J depending on the build, and an adjustable rate of fire of approximately 5-35 rounds per second.
This wide adjustment range makes the MTW suitable for different field limits and playing styles when configured correctly.

What is required to use the rifle?
The MTW Tactical XB uses an external HPA air source. To operate the rifle, you need a compatible compressed-air tank, HPA regulator and HPA line.
The electronic HPA system also requires a compatible battery. The INFERNO XTS accepts a 6-8 V battery input with a JST connector.
