A steel-bodied AEG replica of the legendary British STEN MK.II, equipped with a GATE X-ASR MOSFET and built for historical airsoft, re-enactment and collectors.
The Specna Arms Sten MK.II RETRO AEG Submachine Gun belongs to the Specna Arms Retro series developed in cooperation with S&T/AGM. The collection focuses on historically significant firearm designs and is intended for players, collectors and re-enactment enthusiasts who appreciate the distinctive appearance and character of classic military weapons.
The STEN MK.II was one of the most recognizable British submachine guns of the Second World War. It was designed to be simple, inexpensive and quick to manufacture at a time when the British Army urgently needed a domestically produced submachine gun. More than four million STEN variants were produced, including weapons manufactured clandestinely in occupied Europe.
The Specna Arms replica recreates the stripped-down, functional appearance of the original MK.II. Its side-mounted magazine, tubular receiver and skeletal stock give it an unmistakable historical profile that works especially well in Second World War-inspired loadouts, historical demonstrations and themed airsoft games.
Predominantly steel construction
The replica is manufactured mainly from steel, giving it a durable construction and a convincing historical feel. Its weight of approximately 2.57 kg reinforces the solid character of the platform without making it excessively heavy for field use.
Selected smaller components are made from plastic, but the main external structure is steel. The grey finish complements the utilitarian appearance of the STEN and reflects the simple military character of the original design.
The replica can be partially dismantled quickly by loosening the bolt that secures the stock to the receiver with a flat-bladed spanner. The battery compartment is located inside the stock, keeping the electrical system concealed and preserving the historical exterior.
GATE X-ASR MOSFET
A factory-installed GATE X-ASR MOSFET protects the electrical system and reduces the electrical load placed on the mechanical trigger contacts. It also improves trigger response and can help extend the service life of the wiring and battery when the replica is used correctly.
Built-in diagnostic LEDs can indicate basic electrical faults. A GATE X-ASR diagnostics card is included in the package to help interpret the indicator signals and simplify troubleshooting.
Full-automatic AEG performance
The Sten MK.II uses a Version 7 gearbox and provides full-automatic fire. The advertised muzzle velocity is approximately 113 m/s (370 FPS) with a 0.20 g BB, making the replica suitable for outdoor games and historical scenarios, subject to local field limits.
An adjustable hop-up allows the BB trajectory to be tuned according to the selected BB weight and playing conditions. The replica is fitted with a 225 mm inner barrel.
120-round mid-cap magazine
The included mid-cap magazine holds 120 BBs. It feeds through an internal spring and does not require winding during use. A BB speedloader is included to make filling the magazine easier.
The side-mounted magazine is a defining feature of the STEN platform. It also affects handling and shooting positions, giving the replica a noticeably different feel compared with conventional rifles and submachine guns.
Battery compatibility
The battery compartment inside the stock has limited space. During testing, a battery measuring approximately 125.2 x 20.4 x 10.4 mm was used. The available space inside the stock is approximately 265 mm long and 21.4 mm in diameter.
A slim battery with a DEANS / T-connector is required. Always compare the battery dimensions with the available compartment before purchase.
