Specna Arms MP41 RETRO AEG Submachine Gun (X-ASR)
A distinctive historical AEG replica combining steel and real wood construction, selectable semi-automatic and full-automatic fire, and a factory-installed GATE X-ASR MOSFET.
The Specna Arms MP41 RETRO AEG Submachine Gun belongs to the Specna Arms Retro series developed in cooperation with S&T/AGM. The series is intended for airsoft players, collectors and historical re-enactment enthusiasts who value iconic and less commonly reproduced military designs from previous decades.
The historical MP41 was designed at the C.G. Haenel factory as a development of the MP40 concept. Unlike the MP40, which is often incorrectly referred to as a “Schmeisser”, the MP41 was actually designed by Hugo Schmeisser.
The original design combined features from the MP40, including elements of its operating system, with the traditional wooden stock and trigger arrangement associated with the MP28. The MP41 was used mainly by police units, German allied forces and rear-area formations, making it a more unusual historical platform than the better-known MP40.
Steel, aluminium and real wood construction
The replica combines steel, aluminium and wood to create a solid and convincing historical appearance. The barrel, magazine well, bolt cover, front sight and magazine are made from steel, providing durability and realistic weight in the areas where it matters most.
The charging handle, butt plate and trigger guard are made from aluminium. The stock and the lower section of the receiver are made from wood, giving the replica a traditional appearance and a noticeably different feel from fully metal submachine gun replicas.
At approximately 3.28 kg, the MP41 feels substantial in the hands. The combination of dark metal components and wood furniture creates a distinctive profile that is well suited to collections, historical displays and Second World War-inspired loadouts.
Semi-automatic and full-automatic fire
The Specna Arms MP41 RETRO supports both semi-automatic and full-automatic fire. The fire mode is selected by moving the charging handle forwards or backwards, preserving the unusual operating concept used in the related MP40 RETRO replica.
Semi-automatic fire allows more controlled shooting and makes the replica easier to use on fields where full-auto fire is restricted. Full-automatic fire provides the classic submachine gun experience where local rules allow it.
GATE X-ASR MOSFET
A factory-installed GATE X-ASR MOSFET helps protect the replica’s electrical system and reduces the electrical load placed on the mechanical trigger contacts. It also improves trigger response and can help extend the service life of the wiring and battery when the replica is used correctly.
Built-in indicator LEDs allow basic electrical faults to be diagnosed more easily. This adds practical protection and troubleshooting support to an otherwise historically styled platform.
Adjustable hop-up and Version 7 gearbox
The replica uses a Version 7 gearbox and features an adjustable hop-up. The hop-up allows the BB trajectory to be tuned according to the selected BB weight and playing conditions.
The advertised muzzle velocity is approximately 113 m/s (370 FPS) with a 0.20 g BB. The inner barrel is 265 mm long, offering a practical balance between the replica’s historical dimensions and usable airsoft performance.
120-round mid-cap magazine
The included mid-cap magazine holds 120 BBs. It feeds through an internal spring and does not require winding during use. A BB speedloader is included to make loading easier.
The long steel magazine contributes significantly to the recognizable appearance of the MP41 and complements the replica’s overall historical profile.
