The Vector Optics Frenzy-S FLEX 1x19x28 is a compact, open reflex red dot sight combining a large 19 × 28 mm viewing window with a precise 3 MOA red dot. Designed for fast target acquisition, it features motion-activated operation, a side-loading battery compartment and durable 7075-T6 aluminium construction. With an MGT (Shield RMSc/SMS) footprint and an included Picatinny mount, the Frenzy-S FLEX is a versatile choice for both airsoft rifles and compatible pistols.
The generously sized viewing window makes it easier to locate and maintain the red dot during rapid target transitions, especially when shooting with both eyes open. Despite its large window, the sight retains a compact and lightweight design suitable for CQB, practical shooting and general airsoft use.
Large Viewing Window and Precise 3 MOA Dot
The 19 × 28 mm window provides a wide, unobstructed sight picture, making it easier to acquire targets quickly and keep the dot visible during movement. The open reflex design is particularly useful in situations where rapid target transitions and maintaining awareness of the surroundings are important.
The 3 MOA red dot offers a balance between fast aiming and precision. It remains easy to locate while covering less of the target than larger dots, making it suitable for both close-range engagements and more deliberate aiming at longer distances.
Brightness can be adjusted through 11 settings, including nine daylight levels and two night-vision-compatible settings. This allows the dot intensity to be adapted to different lighting conditions and compatible night vision equipment.
Motion Sensor and Long Battery Life
The Frenzy-S FLEX features a built-in motion sensor that automatically activates the sight when movement is detected and allows it to enter a power-saving state when inactive. This reduces unnecessary battery consumption and makes the optic convenient for regular use.
Battery life is rated at up to 50,000 hours at the lowest brightness setting. Actual battery life depends on brightness, movement and operating conditions.
The CR1632 battery is installed through a side-loading compartment, allowing replacement without removing the sight from its mount. This is especially useful on pistols, where removing the optic would otherwise require checking and potentially readjusting the zero.
MGT Footprint and Picatinny Compatibility
The Frenzy-S FLEX SCRD-66 uses the Vector Optics MGT footprint, corresponding to the Shield RMSc / SMS mounting standard. This allows the optic to be mounted on compatible pistol slides and mounting plates using the same footprint.
A low-profile Picatinny mount is included, allowing the sight to be installed directly onto compatible 21 mm Picatinny/Weaver rails. This makes it suitable for a wide range of airsoft rifles and other platforms equipped with an appropriate accessory rail.
For pistol installations, the mounting arrangement depends on the slide design. A pistol-specific RMSc/SMS-compatible adapter plate may be required, particularly on optics-ready pistols using proprietary or interchangeable mounting plate systems.
The MGT footprint is not directly compatible with Vector Optics TEK (Docter/Noblex) or MOJ (Trijicon RMR) mounting plates. Always check the exact mounting standard of your pistol or adapter before purchasing.
Durable 7075-T6 Aluminium Construction
Both the sight housing and mounting base are manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminium alloy. This provides a strong and lightweight structure designed to withstand recoil and repeated use without unnecessary bulk.
The optic has an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning it is designed to withstand temporary immersion in water at a depth of one metre for up to 30 minutes. Its rated shock resistance is 1000 G, making it suitable for demanding shooting applications as well as regular airsoft use.
With a weight of approximately 55 g including the mount, the Frenzy-S FLEX adds relatively little weight to the replica while providing a large viewing window and robust construction.
