Ares MSR 009 (TRG-42) bolt-action precision rifle is an excellent airsoft replica from a manufacturer known for its high-quality finish. The rifle is based on the Sako TRG-42 precision rifle, the crown jewel of the firearms factory located in Riihimäki—well known to us Finns. Ares’ replica uses top-tier materials: the stock is made from extremely rigid, durable polymer, and—true to the original—the external parts are metal. These robust material choices translate into a weight of nearly five kilograms.
The stock is ergonomically shaped and features an adjustable cheek rest that can be set to the user’s preferred fit. In addition, the length of pull can be adjusted using spacers installed between the rubber butt pad and the stock. At the rear of the stock, there are round holes that serve as QD sling mount compatible points for quick-detach sling swivels. Included are sturdy, adjustable bipods that match the original design; they attach to the mounting point located on the underside of the stock beneath the barrel.
The safety is located inside the trigger guard, and the trigger pull is adjustable.
