Vector Optics Frenzy-S 1x17x24 MIC Red Dot Sight - Black
The Vector Optics Frenzy-S 1x17x24 MIC is an exceptionally lightweight open reflex red dot sight designed for pistols and other compact shooting platforms. Weighing only 18.4 g without the mount, it combines a precise 3 MOA red dot, motion-activated power saving and durable 6061-T6 aluminium construction. Its MGT (Shield RMSc/SMS) footprint and included Weaver rail mount make it a versatile option for compatible airsoft pistols and rifles.
The compact 17 × 24 mm viewing window provides a clear sight picture while keeping the optic low-profile and unobtrusive. Its lightweight design is particularly useful on gas blowback pistols, where additional weight on the slide can affect cycling performance. The sight is also suitable for CQB and other applications where fast target acquisition is important.
Precise 3 MOA Red Dot and Adjustable Brightness
The Frenzy-S MIC features a 3 MOA red dot that offers a practical balance between fast target acquisition and precise aiming. The relatively small dot covers less of the target than larger reticles, making it suitable for both close-range engagements and more deliberate aiming.
The sight features 10 brightness settings, including eight daylight levels and two night-vision-compatible settings. Brightness is adjusted using buttons on the left side of the housing, allowing the dot intensity to be adapted to different lighting conditions.
The multi-coated lens and unlimited eye relief allow comfortable aiming with both eyes open, helping maintain awareness of the surrounding environment during movement and rapid target transitions.
Unlike the Frenzy-S SCRD-M43 Multi Reticle model, the SCRD-43 uses a single 3 MOA red dot rather than selectable circle and dot reticles.
Motion Sensor and Up to 50,000 Hours of Battery Life
The Frenzy-S MIC features a built-in motion sensor that automatically switches the illumination off after approximately two minutes of inactivity. When movement is detected, the sight automatically reactivates without requiring the user to switch it on manually.
This function helps conserve battery power while keeping the optic ready for use. It is particularly convenient during airsoft games, where the replica may remain stationary between engagements.
The sight uses a CR2032 battery, with a manufacturer-rated battery life of up to 50,000 hours at the lowest brightness setting. Actual battery life depends on brightness and operating conditions.
The battery compartment is located underneath the sight, meaning the optic must be removed from its mounting plate or base when replacing the battery. The zero should be checked after reinstallation.
MGT Footprint - Shield RMSc/SMS Compatibility
The Frenzy-S MIC SCRD-43 uses the Vector Optics MGT footprint, corresponding to the Shield RMSc / SMS mounting standard. This compact mounting interface is commonly used on miniature red dot sights designed for pistols.
The MGT footprint measures approximately 41 × 25 mm and features four locating recesses and two central mounting screw holes. The sight can be installed on compatible pistol slides and adapter plates using the corresponding footprint.
A 21 mm Weaver rail mount is included, allowing the optic to be installed directly onto compatible Weaver/Picatinny rails on airsoft rifles and other platforms.
The MGT footprint is not directly compatible with Vector Optics TEK (Docter/Noblex) or MOJ (Trijicon RMR) mounting plates. For example, the Vector Optics SCRDM-01, SCRDM-02 and SCRDM-03 pistol mounting plates use the larger TEK footprint and are not suitable for this sight.
Vector Optics offers separate MGT-compatible pistol mounting solutions, including the SCRDM-09 Glock rear sight adapter and SCFRM-16 Glock MOS adapter.
When mounting the sight on an airsoft pistol, check the exact slide or adapter plate dimensions before purchasing. Even if a pistol is described as optics-ready, it may require a model-specific RMSc/SMS-compatible mounting plate. Compatibility with airsoft pistol slides is not guaranteed solely by the real firearm model designation.
Ultra-Lightweight and Durable Aluminium Construction
The Frenzy-S housing is manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, providing a strong and lightweight structure. At approximately 18.4 g without the mount, the optic adds very little weight to a pistol slide, making it particularly attractive for compact GBB pistol builds.
The sight has an IPX6 water resistance rating, providing protection against powerful water jets and heavy rain. Its 1000 G shock resistance is designed for demanding shooting applications, including use on real firearms.
Windage and elevation adjustments feature a 1 MOA click value and an adjustment range exceeding 45 MOA in each direction, allowing the sight to be zeroed for the intended shooting distance.
