The AAC Honey Badger PDW is a CAR-15-based assault rifle chambered in .300 AAC. The firearm is manufactured by “Freedom Group”, a subsidiary of Advanced Armament Corporation. The weapon is named after the honey badger.
The intended role and calibre of the rifle were designed for special operations in confined spaces. The weapon was designed to replace the H&K MP5 and other similar weapon systems. It was also designed to be easily adopted by military users in countries accustomed to CAR-15-based platforms, as the Honey Badger’s controls are located in the same places as on the AR-15 family of rifles.
The AM-013 body is made from nylon fibre-reinforced polymer, which keeps the weight low without sacrificing durability. Metal is still used in structurally critical internal parts and, for example, in the trigger and the rail system at the front end. At the muzzle end of the barrel running inside the free-float rail, there is an integrated suppressor that is only slightly visible underneath the rail. The pistol grip is ergonomically shaped and finished with a coarse texture for a secure, non-slip hold. Compared to a traditional AR-style magazine release, the magazine release on this replica has been significantly enlarged to make reloads easier and, above all, faster in tight game situations.
On top, the replica features a standard 22 mm RIS rail for mounting various red dot sights.
The replica features a modern electronic control system, the EFCS module, which includes a MOSFET circuit. It controls the replica’s operation and provides a smooth start-up, shortens trigger response, and enables the safe use of higher-voltage LiPo batteries. In addition, the replica can be further programmed with the separately sold “Electronic Firing Control System” unit, allowing you to set your AEG to fire in burst mode if desired. (We have the programming unit available in our service department—if you want a different program installed, please leave a note in the order comments at checkout!)
Package includes:
Compatible battery
To keep the warranty valid, you may use 7.4V LiPo or 8.4V and 9.6V NiCd/NiMH batteries. Using a battery with a higher nominal voltage will void the warranty.
PEQ-style LiPo batteries fit in the battery compartment. The compartment is located in the tube-shaped space between the stock and the receiver.
