The name Maple Leaf MR or "Maximum Range" hop-up bucking highlights its special feature: maximum range. The MR hop-up bucking combines the easy installation of a traditional hop-up bucking with the performance of an R-hop patch. Instead of the usual nub, it features an R-hop style nub that completely fills the barrel window, creating a long and even contact surface for the BB. This extended contact surface imparts a strong spin on the BB with a gentler effect compared to a standard nub. The smoother and stronger spin allows the use of heavier BBs, improving both accuracy and range.
The MR hop-up bucking also incorporates innovations from Maple Leaf’s earlier versions. The front section is textured like the Super Macaron, ensuring a tight seal against the barrel and hop-up unit. The lips of the MR bucking are slightly longer than usual, similar to the Super Macaron. These longer and thicker lips provide better air seal. Note! Due to the longer lips, correct nozzle length is especially important to maintain reliable feeding.
The nub design of the Maple Leaf Macaron hop-up bucking differs from the traditional point-shaped nub. The Macaron nub is a modern, flat, plate-like design several millimeters long. For this flat nub to function as intended, it requires a matching flat hop-up arm. We recommend pairing the Macaron bucking with Maple Leaf’s flat curved hop-up arm.
Hop-up Bucking Hardness Ratings
The hardness rating indicates the softness of the bucking. The lower the number, the softer the bucking. Different hardness levels perform differently depending on the power of the replica. In other words, the hardness rating can serve as a guideline when selecting a suitable bucking for your airsoft gun based on its power. As a rule of thumb: the more powerful the gun, the harder the bucking should be. The table below shows the Taiwanese manufacturer’s own recommendations for different power levels.
| Hardness and Color |
