Maple Leaf Super Macaron hop-up rubbers are an updated and improved generation of the previous Macaron rubber. The already proven concept has been further refined for better air seal and enhanced performance. In addition, the hardness of the hop-up rubbers can be easily identified by their color. The Super Macaron features special grooves on the outside designed to improve the seal within the hop-up chamber.
The Maple Leaf Macaron hop-up rubber nub differs from the traditional point-shaped contact patch. The Macaron rubber uses a modern, flat, plate-like contact patch that is several millimeters long. For this flat nub to work as intended, it also requires a flat hop-up tensioner. We recommend pairing the Macaron hop-up rubber with Maple Leaf’s flat curved tensioner.
Hop-up Rubber Hardness Ratings
The hardness rating indicates the softness of the rubber. The lower the rating, the softer the rubber. Different hardness levels perform differently across various power ranges. In other words, the hardness rating can be used as a guideline when selecting the right rubber for your airsoft gun, based on its power. As a rule of thumb, the more powerful the gun, the harder the hop-up rubber should be. The table below shows the Taiwanese manufacturer’s own recommendations for suitable power ranges.
