Action Army AAP01 gas pistol, Full Auto / Semi Auto - Dark Earth
The Action Army AAP01 is a lightweight and highly versatile gas blowback pistol with selectable semi-automatic and fully automatic fire. Its distinctive construction, adjustable hop-up, 14 mm CCW muzzle thread and compatibility with G-series gas magazines make it a popular platform for both gameplay and custom builds.
The AAP01 combines a polymer receiver and frame with a metal outer barrel. Instead of moving a conventional full-size slide, the blowback system cycles the internal bolt assembly, keeping the moving mass relatively low while still providing a clear blowback action.
Important: adjust the hop-up before first use
The hop-up is typically set completely to zero at the factory. The hop-up must therefore be adjusted before the pistol is used for the first time.
With the hop-up at zero, the hop-up nub does not press the bucking far enough into the inner barrel to retain the BB. As a result, a loaded BB may simply roll through the barrel and fall out of the muzzle. This is normal and does not indicate a fault with the pistol.
Adjust the hop-up according to the instructions supplied with the pistol until the bucking applies enough pressure to hold the BB in the chamber. The final hop-up setting should then be fine-tuned according to the BB weight being used.
Semi-auto and full-auto fire
The AAP01 offers both semi-automatic and fully automatic fire. Semi-auto makes it suitable as a conventional sidearm, while the full-auto mode provides very rapid follow-up shots when needed.
The lightweight blowback assembly gives the pistol a fast operating cycle, making the AAP01 particularly well suited to fast-paced airsoft use and builds where a responsive gas system is desired.
Adjustable hop-up
The adjustable hop-up allows the trajectory to be tuned for different BB weights. Once correctly adjusted, the hop-up applies backspin to the BB and helps achieve a flatter and more consistent flight path.
The AAP01 uses a commonly supported GBB-style hop-up and inner-barrel platform, which also makes it a popular base for performance upgrades and custom builds.
G-series magazine compatibility
The pistol uses a G-series style gas magazine and is compatible with many magazines based on the same specification. The included magazine has a capacity of 23 BBs and is powered by Green Gas.
Magazine compatibility may vary slightly between manufacturers, so fitment and feeding should always be checked when using aftermarket magazines.
14 mm CCW muzzle thread
The metal outer barrel features a standard 14 mm CCW thread. This allows compatible suppressors, tracer units and other muzzle accessories to be installed without a separate threaded adapter.
Fibre-optic sights and ambidextrous controls
Bright fibre-optic front and rear sights provide a clear sight picture. The pistol also features an ambidextrous bolt catch, making the controls convenient for both right- and left-handed users.

Important before first use
- The hop-up is normally set to zero from the factory.
- At the zero setting, a BB may roll freely out of the barrel.
- This does not indicate a malfunction.
- Adjust the hop-up according to the supplied instructions before shooting.
- After initial adjustment, fine-tune the hop-up according to the BB weight used.
