The Polarstar JACK is designed to meet the demand for an affordable, high-performance AEG HPA conversion kit. The system installs in place of the cylinder inside the gearbox and is compatible with most AEG gearboxes where the nozzle centerline aligns with the cylinder centerline.
The JACK™ completely replaces the original gearbox components with a programmable, pneumatically operated, electronically controlled system, providing better performance and greater reliability compared to a traditional electric gearbox.
The JACK HPA unit has only one moving part—the nozzle—which acts as its own “poppet” valve. Similar to the poppets in the Fusion Engine™ and F2™, the nozzle is controlled solely by a solenoid that opens the airflow through the poppet, directing air into the barrel through the solenoid. This design allows the JACK™ to deliver greater airflow to the barrel than competing systems that use the solenoid only as a firing valve.

- Velocity: 152 m/s with 0.20 g BB @ 130 psi
- The JACK™ allows easy adjustment of muzzle velocity by changing the input pressure from the regulator. Jack does not require different nozzles to achieve its full power range. Using a standard M4 rifle as an example, velocity can be adjusted from under 85 m/s up to about 150 m/s with a 0.20 g BB. Actual velocity may vary by model, as longer barrels increase maximum speed while shorter barrels reduce it.
- Rate of Fire: 30 rounds per second
- The maximum cycle rate of the JACK™ depends on several factors, such as operating pressure and the quality of magazines and BBs used. However, 30 rounds per second is achievable in most common configurations.
- Air Efficiency: Over 1000 shots from a 13/3000 tank @ 1.5 J with 0.28 g BB
- Although air efficiency was not a critical requirement during development, the JACK™ still delivers impressive numbers in this category. This is thanks to its smart design, which minimizes dead volume and results in better airflow, faster response, and less air per shot. (Test configuration: 6.05x375 mm barrel)
