Vector Optics M1911 Red Dot Mount, TEK (Docter/Noblex) - Black
The Vector Optics SCRDM-02 is a lightweight aluminium red dot mounting plate designed for M1911 pistols with a traditional G.I.-style rear sight dovetail. It uses the Vector Optics TEK footprint, corresponding to the widely used Docter/Noblex mounting standard. The plate allows compatible Vector Optics Frenzy and Sphinx sights, as well as other Docter/Noblex-pattern red dots, to be mounted in place of the original rear sight.
Manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with a matte black finish, the mount weighs approximately 12 g and is only 3 mm thick. Its low-profile construction keeps the optic close to the slide without adding unnecessary bulk.
TEK Footprint - Docter/Noblex Compatibility
The SCRDM-02 uses the TEK footprint, which corresponds to the Docter/Noblex mounting standard. The mounting interface features four locating posts arranged in a rectangular pattern and two screw holes for securing the optic. The locating posts have a spacing of 40 × 20 mm.
According to Vector Optics, the following red dot sights use the compatible TEK footprint:
- Vector Optics Frenzy FM SCRD-19II
- Vector Optics Frenzy FM SCRD-F19II
- Vector Optics Frenzy FM SCRD-G19II
- Vector Optics Frenzy FM SCRD-35
- Vector Optics Frenzy FM SCRD-40
- VictOptics SPX V3 RDSL16 and RDSL18
Vector Optics also lists the Sphinx SCRA-10A as compatible with this mounting plate.
The Docter/Noblex standard is also used by several other manufacturers, including compatible Docter/Noblex, Vortex Venom and Viper, and Burris FastFire sights. When using an optic from another manufacturer, check the exact footprint, locating post dimensions and mounting screw compatibility before installation.
Which Red Dot Sights Are Not Compatible?
Not all Vector Optics Frenzy sights use the same mounting footprint. The Frenzy product name alone does not guarantee compatibility with this plate.
The SCRDM-02 is not directly compatible with the following mounting standards:
- Trijicon RMR / SRO footprint - Vector Optics MOJ
- Shield RMSc / SMS footprint - Vector Optics MGT
- Aimpoint ACRO footprint - Vector Optics VOD
- C-More RTS / STS footprint - Vector Optics GIN
For example, Vector Optics Frenzy SCRD-36 and SCRD-SM64 use the MOJ footprint and will not fit this mount. Frenzy-S SCRD-43 uses the smaller MGT footprint and is also incompatible. Vector Optics has additionally confirmed that the Frenzy-S SCRD-52 does not fit this plate.
Always check the exact model number and footprint of your red dot sight. A TEK/Docter-compatible optic is required for direct mounting.
M1911 Installation and Airsoft Compatibility
The SCRDM-02 is designed to replace the original rear sight on an M1911 pistol. The factory rear sight must be removed before the adapter can be fitted into the rear sight dovetail.
The mount is designed for traditional G.I.-style M1911 rear sight cuts, not for Novak-style rear sight dovetails. Different 1911 manufacturers may use different rear sight dimensions, even when the pistols share a similar external appearance.
The mounting plate was originally designed for real firearms. Compatibility with airsoft M1911 pistols is not guaranteed. Airsoft slides can use different rear sight dovetail dimensions or mounting arrangements, and installation may require modification. Check the original rear sight construction and dimensions before purchasing.
