Wolverine Airsoft Gen-12 MTW SBS HPA Shotgun
The Wolverine Airsoft Gen-12 MTW SBS HPA Shotgun is a purpose-built premium HPA platform for players who want exceptional close-range firepower, fast handling and the proven engineering of the MTW system. Developed in cooperation with Genesis Arms, it combines the appearance and controls of the real Gen-12 shotgun platform with Wolverine Airsoft’s specialized HAVOC 6 engine.
This is not a conventional single-barrel HPA rifle styled to resemble a shotgun. Every pull of the trigger launches six BBs, creating a true multi-projectile effect without shells or manually operated loading. With a firing rate of up to six shots per second, the system can send as many as 36 BBs downrange in one second. The result is an exceptionally effective platform for CQB, room clearing and other short-range situations where rapid target engagement and a dense BB pattern provide a clear advantage.
The SBS configuration is built specifically for maneuverability. Its compact front end and 7-inch Invictus M-LOK handguard make the shotgun easy to move through doorways, around corners and between obstacles. Despite its short profile, the handguard provides practical mounting space for compatible lights, grips and other M-LOK accessories.
The licensed Genesis Arms DPMS-pattern receiver set is CNC-machined from aluminium and finished in black oxide. The distinctive upper receiver features a right-side charging handle and a spring-loaded mock bolt carrier group, adding mechanical feedback and visual detail to the platform. The redesigned lower receiver is cut to accept compatible PDW-style stocks, allowing the user to build an even more compact configuration.
At the heart of the Gen-12 is Wolverine Airsoft’s HAVOC 6 HPA engine. Designed specifically for multi-BB operation, the engine delivers six BBs with each shot while retaining the immediate trigger response and consistency expected from a high-end HPA system. The output can be adjusted from approximately 0.6 to 1.1 joules per BB by changing the regulator pressure within the specified 80–140 PSI operating range.
This adjustable output makes the Gen-12 suitable for different playing environments and field limits. Lower settings can be used for close-range CQB environments, while higher settings provide more usable range where local rules permit. As with any multi-projectile airsoft gun, field limits and minimum engagement distances should always be confirmed before use.
The Spartan Electronics Control Board supports semi-automatic, burst and full-automatic operation, depending on the version, programming and local field rules. Combined with the Wolverine T5 curved trigger, the electronic system gives the shotgun a responsive and controlled trigger feel. The semi-only version provides the same six-BB performance in a configuration suited to sites where burst or full-auto fire is not permitted.
The included MTW-Spec .308 magazine holds 140 BBs and features empty-magazine detection. When the magazine is depleted, the system stops firing instead of continuing to dry-fire. With six BBs used per shot, one full magazine provides approximately 23 complete shots. This gives the reload process more meaning while also helping the user keep track of remaining ammunition.
The Gen-12 retains selected compatibility with the broader MTW ecosystem and compatible real-steel-pattern accessories. However, the specialized receiver set, HAVOC engine and .308-style magazine make its compatibility more limited than that of a standard MTW rifle. The compatibility of stocks, grips, rails, magazines and internal components should therefore be verified specifically for the Gen-12 before purchase.
The combination of premium machining, licensed external components, specialized HPA engineering and extraordinary close-range output makes the Gen-12 MTW SBS a highly distinctive airsoft platform.
