Description
Polarstar F2 G&P Cyma M14 HPA Conversion Kit
The Polarstar F2 G&P Cyma M14 HPA Conversion Kit is a model-specific, semi-automatic HPA conversion system designed for compatible G&P and CYMA M14 airsoft rifles. The kit replaces the original pneumatic and mechanical firing components inside the AEG gearbox with a compact dual-solenoid PolarStar F2 Offset engine.
M14 gearboxes use a vertically offset nozzle arrangement, which prevents a conventional centre-line HPA engine from aligning correctly with the hop-up chamber. This version of the F2 has a specially designed offset front cylinder and an O-5 offset nozzle for the G&P/CYMA M14 configuration.
F2 performance for an offset-nozzle M14
The F2 Offset uses the same rear cylinder, poppet valve and principal internal components as the standard PolarStar F2. Its redesigned front cylinder allows the nozzle to operate above or below the engine centre line, making the system suitable for replicas such as the M14 that cannot use a conventional centre-line HPA engine.
The front cylinder has two pin tracks that support different offset-nozzle positions. Its two-piece nozzle incorporates a stainless-steel support pin that stabilises the longer nozzle and reduces vertical movement during loading. This helps position each BB consistently in the hop-up chamber.
Independent nozzle and air control
The F2 uses two solenoids: one controls the nozzle movement and the other controls the poppet valve that releases the firing air. The FCU allows these functions to be adjusted independently.
This provides control over settings such as nozzle dwell, poppet dwell and loading timing. The firing sequence can also be configured for true closed-bolt operation or AEG-style operation. These settings describe the loading sequence of the HPA engine; this particular G&P/CYMA M14 conversion remains semi-automatic only.
True closed-bolt operation
In true closed-bolt mode, the BB is already chambered and the nozzle is forward before the trigger is pulled. Pulling the trigger releases the firing air, after which the nozzle cycles to load the next BB.
This operating sequence provides a consistent starting position for each shot. AEG mode is also available through the FCU when a different loading sequence is preferred.
Spring-loaded offset nozzle
The F2 nozzle is spring-biased forward. This gives the nozzle a consistent loading force that does not depend directly on the operating pressure.
PolarStar also offers optional light and heavy nozzle springs for adjusting loading force when required by the magazine, hop-up bucking or build configuration.
Adjustable power and efficient air use
The recommended operating-pressure range is 45-145 PSI. Muzzle energy and velocity are adjusted primarily by changing the output pressure of the HPA regulator, so different power levels can be achieved without replacing the nozzle.
The actual output depends on the inner-barrel length and diameter, hop-up components, air seal, ammunition and installation quality. The replica must always be measured with a chronograph after installation and adjusted to comply with the applicable field limits.
The lightweight one-piece poppet valve is designed to operate at relatively low pressure and air volume. PolarStar’s reference testing for the F2 achieved more than 1,000 shots from a 13/3000 tank at 1.5 joules with 0.28 g BBs, although the result in an M14 installation will vary according to the complete setup.
Model-specific M14 configuration
This kit is configured for compatible G&P and CYMA M14 replicas. It uses the PolarStar O-5 offset nozzle and includes the electronic components required for the M14 trigger installation.
M14 replicas from different manufacturers do not necessarily use the same nozzle length or internal dimensions. This kit is therefore not the correct version for G&G or Tokyo Marui M14 rifles:
- G&P and CYMA M14: this O-5 configuration
- G&G M14: separate O-1 version required
- Tokyo Marui M14: separate O-12 version required
Compatibility should be verified before installation, particularly if the rifle contains a gearbox shell, hop-up chamber or other internal components from a different manufacturer.
Semi-automatic configuration
This G&P/CYMA M14 kit is configured for semi-automatic fire. It does not provide selectable fully automatic fire in this installation.
The FCU may include settings for rate of fire, burst operation and selector behaviour because the same control system is used in several PolarStar configurations. These settings do not add a functioning full-auto selector to this M14 conversion.
Installation
The F2 is installed inside the original gearbox shell after the gears, piston, cylinder assembly and other unnecessary AEG components have been removed. The original trigger and safety components are retained or adapted as required by the installation.
Installing this conversion requires complete disassembly of the replica, modification or fitting of internal components, correct routing of the air line and wiring, and careful alignment of the nozzle with the hop-up chamber and inner barrel.
Minor modifications may be required to achieve correct fitment and practical air-line routing. The nozzle must be centred in the hop-up chamber and the gearbox must close without pinching the solenoid wires or FCU harness.
Installation should be performed by a technician familiar with HPA systems and M14 gearbox construction. The air source and battery must always be disconnected before disassembly, adjustment or alignment work.
