The Specna Arms MP44/StG44 RETRO AEG Assault Rifle belongs to the Specna Arms Retro series developed in cooperation with S&T/AGM. The series is intended for airsoft players, collectors and historical re-enactment enthusiasts who appreciate iconic military designs and detailed reproductions of weapons from previous decades.
The historical MP44, later designated StG44, was developed for the German armed forces during the Second World War. Its combination of selective fire and the intermediate 7.92 x 33 mm Kurz cartridge helped establish the concept that would later become known as the assault rifle.
Almost half a million examples were produced before the end of the war. The platform was also used with specialist equipment, including the ZG 1229 Vampir night-vision sight. Its possible influence on later military rifle designs remains a frequently discussed topic among historians and firearms enthusiasts.
Metal construction with wooden stock
The Specna Arms replica combines metal, wood and polymer components to recreate the distinctive appearance of the original weapon. The barrel, muzzle device, receiver, body, sights, magazine well, magazine, fire selector and charging handle are made from metal.
The fixed stock is made from wood and includes attachment points for a carrying sling. Polymer pistol grip panels complete the construction and reproduce the contrasting material arrangement associated with the historical model.
With an overall weight of approximately 4.3 kg, the replica has a notably solid and substantial feel. The long metal receiver, curved magazine and wooden stock make it especially suitable for historical collections, period-inspired loadouts and Second World War-themed games.
Semi-automatic and full-automatic fire
The MP44/StG44 RETRO offers both semi-automatic and full-automatic fire modes. Semi-automatic fire is suitable for controlled engagements and fields where automatic fire is restricted, while full-automatic fire provides the characteristic assault-rifle experience where local rules permit it.
The external fire selector is made from metal and allows the firing mode to be selected according to the situation and field regulations.
GATE X-ASR MOSFET
A factory-installed GATE X-ASR MOSFET helps protect the replica’s electrical components and reduces the electrical load placed on the mechanical trigger contacts. It also improves trigger response and can help extend the service life of the wiring and battery when the replica is used correctly.
Built-in indicator LEDs allow basic electrical faults to be diagnosed more easily, providing practical protection and troubleshooting support inside the historically styled platform.
Special gearbox and adjustable hop-up
The replica uses a special gearbox designed for the MP44/StG44 platform. An adjustable hop-up allows the BB trajectory to be tuned according to the selected BB weight and playing conditions.
The advertised muzzle velocity is approximately 110 m/s (360 FPS) with a 0.20 g BB. The replica is equipped with a 455 mm inner barrel.
190-round mid-cap magazine
The included mid-cap magazine holds 190 BBs. It feeds through an internal spring and does not require winding during use. A BB speedloader is included to make filling the magazine easier.
The long, curved metal magazine is one of the most recognizable elements of the MP44/StG44 profile and contributes significantly to the replica’s historical appearance and substantial overall weight.
