Sordin SmartEar Impulse represents the latest in passive earplug technology. The SmartEar Impulse plug is like a mechanical active hearing protector and was developed for military use and is also used by NATO forces. The earplugs effectively absorb impulse noise, such as gunshots, but allow speech and ambient sounds to pass through - the perfect solution for shooting, hunting and other noisy environments. In the airsoft field, these plugs work great when using sound grenades or other pyrotechnic grenades, for example.
The patented impulse filter reduces the peak sound pressure of a gunshot by up to 33 dB (ANSI IPIL certified up to 166 dB). When there are no sudden sound peaks, the plug provides 19 dB SNR attenuation, allowing ambient sounds to be heard naturally without the annoying feeling of "blocking".
The lightweight and discreet design makes it comfortable to wear all day long. Medical-grade materials reduce irritation to the ear canal and ensure comfort. The plugs also fit under earmuffs or communication equipment, and in very noisy environments they can be combined with double protection.
