Description
Specna Arms SA-J73 CORE™ HAL ETU Gen.2 - Black
The Specna Arms SA-J73 CORE™ HAL ETU Gen.2 is a lightweight AK-style AEG equipped with programmable HAL™ electronics, a Magnus™ TDC hop-up chamber, upgraded CORE™ Gen.2 internals and the ESA2™ quick-change spring system.
The SA-J73 belongs to the updated Specna Arms J-Series™ CORE™ Gen.2 range, which combines an accessible price point with a versatile factory configuration. Its nylon-fibre-reinforced polymer construction keeps the weight manageable, while steel and metal-alloy components reinforce the areas exposed to greater mechanical stress.
The side-folding stock reduces the rifle's length to approximately 600 mm for transport and use in confined spaces. With the stock extended, the overall length is approximately 840 mm. A dovetail side rail allows a compatible AK-style optic mount to be installed.
Programmable HAL™ ETU
The HAL™ electronic trigger unit detects trigger movement using magnetic Hall-effect sensors instead of a conventional mechanical trigger switch. Trigger response, pre-cocking and fire-selector functions can be programmed directly through the trigger without opening the rifle or using a separate application.
- Adjustable trigger sensitivity: five levels from 20 to 100%
- Adjustable pre-cocking: six levels
- Active Brake
- Binary trigger mode
- Programmable AUTO selector modes: full auto, semi-automatic, three-round burst or five-round burst
- Programmable SEMI selector modes: semi-automatic, binary, AUG or sniper mode
- Low-battery warning
In the HAL™ AUG mode, the rifle fires an initial three-round burst and continues in full auto if the trigger remains pressed.
This is the HAL™ ETU version with a conventional motor, not a separate BLDC model equipped with a brushless motor.
Updated CORE™ Gen.2 internals
The internal mechanism is built around a Version 3 gearbox with 8 mm bearings and 16:1 steel gears. The compression system includes an aluminium cylinder, sealed polymer piston and cylinder heads, a sealed aluminium nozzle and a piston with a 14.5-tooth steel rack.
- Version 3 gearbox
- 8 mm bearings
- 16:1 steel gears
- Piston with a 14.5-tooth steel rack
- Sealed polymer piston head
- Sealed polymer cylinder head
- Aluminium cylinder
- Sealed aluminium nozzle
- 6.03 mm brass precision inner barrel
Magnus™ TDC hop-up chamber
The rotary Magnus™ TDC hop-up chamber applies pressure directly from above, allowing precise and stable adjustment. It is paired with a 320 mm long, 6.03 mm brass inner barrel to support a consistent BB trajectory in the factory configuration.
ESA2™ quick-change spring system
The ESA2™ quick-change spring system allows the mainspring to be replaced without completely disassembling the gearbox. This makes it easier to adjust the muzzle velocity for different field limits and styles of play.
The advertised muzzle velocity of the standard configuration is approximately 122 m/s or 400 FPS. An additional M90 spring is included for reducing the output when required.
Lightweight AK-style construction
The receiver and several external components are made from nylon-fibre-reinforced polymer. Selected structural components, including parts of the barrel assembly, sight blocks, handguard retainers and muzzle device, are made from aluminium and zinc alloy.
The top cover, fire selector and trigger guard are made from steel. The rifle also features a side-folding stock and an AK-style dovetail side rail for a compatible optic mount.
The battery compartment is located underneath the top cover and provides space for a stick-type LiPo or Li-Ion battery. The rifle uses a DEANS / T-connect battery connector, and a Small Tamiya to DEANS adapter is included.
Magazine compatibility
The rifle is compatible with many AK-style magazines. Magazines from Cyma, JG, E&L and Bolt generally fit without modification, while magazines from other manufacturers may require minor fitting.
The package includes two 175-round S-MAG mid-cap magazines.
