The pads feature Alta’s patented AltaLok fastening buckles. The knee pad is secured to the user’s leg with two straps: the lower strap is non-elastic, while the upper strap is elastic. The purpose of the non-elastic lower strap is to prevent the pad from slipping by tightening it above the calf muscle, ensuring it stays in place as the non-elastic strap resists sliding down against the widening calf.
